The programme was virtually inaugurated by Shri Rohit Kansal, IAS, Principal Secretary Higher Education, and Information, J&K followed by an address by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu. The summer school programme by IIM Jammu is done with a broad vision to make a positive social impact and meaningful contribution to society. The idea of Summer School was initiated by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu to engage young students positively during the pandemic. The programme aims to expose the students to quality education, motivate them to leverage various available opportunities, and handle the competition with ease.
The International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2022-themed “Yoga for Humanity” and a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' campaign to commemorate 75 years of Independence - was observed on 21st June 2022 (Tuesday) at IIM Jammu Canal Road Campus. With profound sorrow, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu informs the passing away of Professor Manoj Kumar, Professor and Chairperson MBA, IIM Jammu on 21st May 2022. Professor Manoj Kumar was a full time professor in the finance and accounting area and also the Chairperson (MBA) at IIM Jammu, an Institute of National Importance. He had a long diverse experience of more than 22 years in the areas of Academic Administration, Pedagogical Methods, Executive Training, Finance and Accounting Research, Institution Building and Management Consulting. Besides teaching and training, he was a prolific researcher and has published papers in many reputed international journals. Prior to joining IIM Jammu, he had worked as a faculty and held key positions with organizations ranging from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Navi Mumbai, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), New Delhi, Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Skill Development, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu. The MoU was signed by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, and Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, IAS, Principal Secretary, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir. IIM Jammu will work closely with the Dept. of Skill Development, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir (J & K) to improve the skill development ecosystem of J&K by mentoring Polytechnics and ITIs and offering management development training programs to the principals and faculty of these institutes.
IIM Jammu announces the launch of its online Summer School for students of 10th, 11th, and 12th classes Based on the overwhelming response to the Summer School programme for students of 10th, 11th, and 12th classes held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu in the last year 2021, the Institute is pleased to announce its next session, to be held from 27th June -01st July 2022. The idea of Summer School was initiated by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu to engage young students positively during the pandemic with an aim to expand students’ knowledge across various disciplines and help them explore new career options. The unique element of this Summer School programme is that it includes week-long interactive sessions with interesting programme modules from the faculty of IIM Jammu. Being an IIM Jammu-sponsored program, the Institute is not charging any fees from the students.

The placement scenario at IIM Jammu has been on the rise with 119 companies visiting for final placements. The student team at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) secured the 1st Runner-up at the prestigious “Tapmi International Bloomberg Olympiad 2022”. This was the seventh annual edition of this competition, jointly hosted by Bloomberg and the TAPMI Institute. A total of ninety-one teams from India and abroad, including the teams from the top b-schools such as the IIMs, University of Wisconsin, University of Southampton, NMIMS, and SIBM participated in the event. The event was judged by Industry experts from top companies.

IIM Jammu inaugurated the second academic module of its ongoing Mahatma Gandhi National fellowship academic (MGNF) module of Sankalp under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India. Module-I of the programme was organized by IIM Jammu from 25 th Oct-6 th Nov 2021. The fellows joined their respective districts in J & K, West Bengal, Ladakh, Chandigarh, and Puducherry for district immersion where the fellows worked closely with district administration for enhancing their skills and promote economic development.

Jan 2022: Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the Entrepreneurship Orientation Training Program of the first batch of forty students from various colleges under the Department of Higher Education, Government of J&K. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, inaugurated the program on January 24th, 2022 with the valedictory function concluding the program on January 29th, 2022. The program was divided into five sub-themes focusing on Business Idea creation, Strategic Planning and Design, Finance for Entrepreneurs, Marketing for Entrepreneurs, and Teams’ management and Communication. Students from 14 different colleges from the Jammu division were part of the first batch. IIM Jammu will conduct five such Entrepreneurship Orientation training programs for 200 students covering all the colleges under the J&K Department of Higher Education.
Indian Institute of Management Jammu celebrated the 73rd Republic Day on 26 th January 2022 with utmost pride, patriotism, and integrity. The celebrations were done in a hybrid mode owing to the current pandemic situation, and witnessed the participation of the IIM Jammu fraternity from different locations from India. The celebration began with the flag hoisting, followed by a display of parade on the campus and the National Anthem. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, delivered the Republic Day address honoring the day on which the Constitution of India came into effect.
IIM Jammu and IIT Jammu has started a Joint Dual-Degree Program (B.Tech. and MBA) from the current academic year 2021-22. IIT Jammu will offer courses on B.Tech. whereas IIM Jammu will offer courses on MBA. The program is divided into two distinct stages: The initial four years for the B. Tech. Program, to be pursued at IIT Jammu; and the last two years for the MBA program, to be pursued at IIM Jammu.
11 December 2021, Jammu: After the successful introduction and overwhelming response to Summer School 2021, Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu) will be launching its first-ever Online Winter School for 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students. The idea of the Winter School was initiated by Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director-IIM Jammu, with the vision of engaging young students positively, expanding students' knowledge across various disciplines and helping them explore new career options. This one-week program will commence from January 10th, 2022 and continue until January 14th, 2022.
7 Dec 21, IIM Jammu: On Armed Forces Flag day, IIM Jammu organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in the Institute. The initiative by Prayas - The Social Responsibility Committee of IIM Jammu was held in collaboration with the J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) on 22nd October 2021. The MoU signing took place at IIM Jammu, Canal Road Campus.
