Opportunity to Create Self-Reliant India

The Onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has set several challenges, particularly to the emerging nations. These challenges can, however, offer us various opportunities to leverage. Emerging from the Crises as one of the worst-hit countries, India has shown early signs of bouncing back strongly. The world recognizes the immense potential that India must innovate and provide efficient supply to not just the country but the rest of the world. This, however, requires to be supported by efficient and effective production at the local level. Such mechanism can be an important source of self- reliant India which, if realized, can lead India to a position of global leadership. The idea of "Self-reliant India" sets the challenge for the economy to develop robust infrastructure and system to support it. In this panel, we discuss these challenges and the importance of ‘Self-Reliant India’ for a better India.
