IIM-Jammu Partnership

The Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) Program, Phase-II was launched on 25th October 2021. It is a Certificate Program in Public Policy and Management offered by IIMs in association with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India (GoI) and implemented in collaboration with State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs). IIM, Jammu currently has 48 active fellows across the districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Chandigarh and West Bengal. The fellows attended several classroom sessions under their first Academic Module, which spanned over a period of two weeks from 26th October to 6th November. Topics covered in the sessions were curated to be multidisciplinary in nature to encourage divergent thinking in achieving unique solutions to challenges that may arise during the field immersion. Furthermore, to provide a comprehensive overview of the district and the workings of the district administration, sessions were arranged with government officials. Apart from regular classroom sessions, the fellows also participated in an interactive workshop tasked with creating district profiles using principles of Design Thinking. During the course of the District Immersion Module-I, the fellows shall undertake activities that position them at the forefront of their respective district skill ecosystem.
