About the IFAC - 2023

Change may be the only constant, but its speed is not. At the speed of thought, the planet earth is in the throes of unprecedented change in how it lives and does business. The disruptive forces at work predominantly are technology, pandemic, and climate change, amongst others. Although the collective vision these new realities have conjured up is still evolving, umpteen possibilities have emerged to radically improve the world in general and finance, accounting, and economics. Green is no longer the metaphorical colour of money but an increasingly preferred prefix from investors connoting funds going into responsible projects. On the other hand, economics focuses on "development" over "growth" and aligns with the rapid institutionalization of Sustainable Development Goals.

The discipline of accountancy is also witnessing a wholesome shift in the roles of accountants as more and more processes are getting automated and cloud based. With all these dynamic changes, the International Finance and Accounting Conference (IFAC) has started its journey in 2023 to provide ample opportunities to explore and experience new ways of engaging researchers, academicians, and practitioners in the finance and accounting domain.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) are jointly organizing the International Finance and Accounting Conference (IFAC – 2023) from 8th to 9th September 2023 on hybrid mode. We are hopeful for a new era full of opportunities where the concept and application of Finance and accounting can extend its scope into different business dimensions and encourage the stakeholders to reimagine finance, accounting, and banking in a world under reset. With this objective, we are going to invite policymakers, think-tank specialists, corporate leaders, academic researchers, and doctoral scholars to come together and share their thoughts to make the finance world better and more productive. Thus, our theme of the conference, "Reimagining the Finance, Accounting, and Banking in A World Under Reset" has embraced its journey to deal with the ever-changing dynamics of the industry.
