1. Program Manager: One Post

IIM Jammu invites applications for the position of Program Manager for the Skill to Enterprise Module. Skill to Enterprise Program (STEM) is a joint initiative between IIM Jammu and SIDBI that is designed to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and skills to start and manage their businesses successfully. The program aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the UTs of J&K and Ladakh by providing practical training, mentorship, and access to networks of business professionals. The program will run for one year and will have components of training delivered through physical and virtual modes in addition to mentoring and incubation support. The program will give a selected set of candidates the right exposure to excel through field visits, workshops, and industry and academic mentorship.

Candidates must be conversant/proficient in the local language. The successful candidate is expected to join a team of academics and practitioners in documentation, planning, assisting with monitoring and evaluation, and helping the participants develop economic development.

Contractual Payment: Rs. 70,000 per month

Upper Age Limit: 40 years

Qualification:

Essential:

Master’s in Management/ Social Sciences/ Economics/ Development Studies/Rural Technology/ or related fields.

Desirable:

Skills in IT, action research, training, and data analysis are preferred. Familiarity and ability to use MS Office, and statistical software (R/Stata) is desirable.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of prior experience in total with experience in handling projects independently and also as program manager in any National Level Project.

Job Profile:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience working on policy and programmatic issues with multiple stakeholders including national, and local governments and civil society organizations including community organizations.
  • Attention to detail, planning, and task-orientation.
  • Travel will be required on the job.

Period of engagement:

The STEM contract is for a period of about one year or up to the project duration. An initial offer will be given for one year, extendable up to the duration of the project. The contracts will be for up to a year, subject to performance reviews.

Reporting Relationships:

Program Manager will report to the Program Director of the project.

Audience/interface:

Internal – Faculty, IIMJ Administration team

External – Participants, different agencies (Central or State Governments, Corporate, SIDBI).

2. Project Coordinator: Two Post

General Conditions:

  • These positions are on a purely contractual basis and co-terminus with the project. The project staff has no right to claim a regular position in the Institute.

Other Conditions:

  • Mere fulfilling of the minimum qualifications and experience will not vest any right in candidates for being called for an Interview/ written/ skills test. The decision of the Institute to call the candidates for an interview/ written/ skills test shall be final.
  • Appointments will be governed by the relevant service rules and regulations of the Institute as amended from time to time.
  • No correspondence/queries will be entertained from candidates regarding e-mail delays, conduct, and result of interview/ written/ skills test and reasons for not being called for interview/ written/ skills test.
  • In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of the appointment letter, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication including appointment offer made to the candidate.
  • In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Institute shall be final and binding.
