IIM Jammu invites applications for the position of Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager for the SBDU Project (Transforming Small Businesses through Small Business Development Units). The Project of Transforming Informal Businesses through SBDUs (SBDUs) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India has been envisaged to strengthen institutions to deliver quality initiatives for entrepreneurship development across identified locations i.e. 22 SBDUs to be established across the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The program aims to identify the existing/ aspiring entrepreneurs and providing necessary skills and knowledge for business development and create enabling environment for to help transform informal businesses into formal businesses through capacity development and handholding. The integrated intervention will be helping the skill development of the potential entrepreneurs in starting a new venture and help them in survival and growth.

1. Project Manager: One Post

The successful candidate is expected to join a team of academics and practitioners in documentation, planning, assisting with monitoring and evaluation, and engaging with the participants as they acquire the necessary expertise and grow.

Contractual Payment: Rs. 75,000 per month

Upper Age Limit: 45 years

Qualification:

Essential:

Masters in Management/ Social Sciences

Desirable:

Skills in IT, action research, training, and data analysis are preferred. Familiarity and ability to use MS Office, and statistical software is desirable.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of prior experience in total with experience in handling projects independently.

Job Profile:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience working on policy and programmatic issues with multiple stakeholders including national, and local governments and civil society organizations including community organizations.
  • Attention to detail, planning, and task-orientation.
  • Travel will be required on the job.
  • Other project related tasks as the project moves ahead.

Period of engagement:

The job contract shall be for a period synchronous with the project duration.

Reporting Relationships:

Program Manager will report to the faculty/staff member handling the project.

Audience/interface:

Internal – Faculty, IIMJ Administration team

External – Participants, different agencies (Central or State Governments, Corporate, SIDBI).

2. Assistant Project Manager/Project Associate: Four Posts

The successful candidate is expected to join a team of academics and practitioners in documentation, planning, assisting with monitoring and evaluation, and helping the participants develop economic development.

Contractual Payment: Rs. 45,000 per month

Upper Age Limit: 40 years

Qualification:

Essential:

Graduation in Management/ Social Sciences

Desirable:

Skills in IT, Familiarity and ability to use MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint.

Experience:

A minimum of 1 years prior experience in total with experience in supporting the Project Managers in day-to-day execution.

  • Mere fulfilling of the minimum qualifications and experience will not vest any right in candidates for being called for an Interview/ written/ skills test. The decision of the Institute to call the candidates for an interview/ written/ skills test shall be final.
  • Appointments will be governed by the relevant service rules and regulations of the Institute as amended from time to time.
